Every month, Make Sure You Have Fun™ brings you a night full of nostalgia and your favorite forgotten and unforgettable hits from the early 2000s. Come prepared to hear music from Ciara, Missy Elliot, Ludacris, The Clipse, Beyonce, Tweet, Mystikal, 50 Cent, Monica, The Ying Yang Twins, Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, Ashanti, Ja Rule, and more. Think you know your stuff about the 2000s? You might even get a chance to win special prizes and tickets to future shows by participating in our Tall Tees Trivia Game during the party. History of Tall Tees
Tall Tees was founded in 2016 by Pete Butta and Make Sure You Have Fun™ Founder Ryan “RB” Brown as a night dedicated to 2000s Hip Hop and R&B. From 2016 to early 2018, Spirit Lodge in Pittsburgh hosted one of the city's first and most popular monthly dance parties dedicated to the era, held on Thursday nights. After hosting over 18 shows with guest DJs such as GETLIVE!, DJ FEMI, DJ Red, DJ NY Giant, DJ SOLO DOLO, DJ Yamez, DJ Motormane, and DJ Bamboo, the party concluded when Pete Butta moved to New York City to continue his creative and musical career.
Fast forward to 2021, after the COVID-19 lockdown and receiving feedback from our audience, Make Sure You Have Fun™ revived the concept at their annual Black Wednesday 2021 to a widely positive reception. Starting in January 2022, Make Sure You Have Fun™ has hosted the party as part of their 5+ year residency at Spirit on the 2nd Saturday of each month. From launching Tall Tees Radio on MSYH.FM and opening up the stage for local and regional DJs such as DJ Breis Gordan, DJ COLEBLOODED, DJ Inception, Doctor Dap, Arie Cole, Lariches, THEO, Slim Tha DJ, tj groover, DJ QRX, DPHR and Icy Pisces, in addition to our inaugural New Haven, CT party, Tall Tees is back and here to stay.

DJ QRX
DJ QRX! Real name is Austin Bey was born and raised in Homewood, PA. QRX Went to college at IUP becoming their very own resident DJ by winning the yearly DJ Competition. He loves the culture and art of DJing. He started DJing in 2012 and had his first gig in 2014. Between those two years he researched and studied what the culture used to be and where the art form is going, and still is because he has always been a student of DJ culture. He has DJ’ed some very notable events within these 11 years. Pittsburgh Three Rivers Art Festival, Picklesburgh, Slappers’N’Bangers, and IUP Homecoming events where he opened for Rappers Lil Uzi Vert, DaBaby, Young M.A, Lil Yachty, Offset, and PnB Rock. QRX is also Undefeated in every DJ battle he has been in (4-0) and even DJ ’ed events across the country in Australia while studying abroad there. Officially he started working with 1Hood Media in 2015. At the end of the day, he loves what he does, and it shows! Lately, he has put efforts into posting weekly mixes on his Instagram @Social_QRX, named Qmixes, so be sure to follow and check those out!

DJ Yamez
Yamez is one of the leading DJ’s and turntablists for Trap, Open Format, Hip-Hop, and EDM in the New York area. He has won multiple DJ battles, preformed as a resident at Webster Hall Thursday nights, was featured in one of this year’s Boiler Room events, and most recently hosted an MTV/BMW launch party. He was an official Red Bull DJ from 2006-2016 and was an A and R (Mr. X) for Red Bull Music Academy from 2010-2015 - DJ’ing, curating events, and scouting out artists for the company. In 2015 Yamez was the DJ for Azealia Banks and toured with her in over 15 countries. He remixed exclusive tracks for her international tour and also produced a track for her and Rick Ross called “Big Talk” on Azealia’s latest mixtape, “Sleezy.” He has been featured on countless parties including events for Alife, Adidas, Nike, Reebok, Asap Rocky’s Birthday and New Years party, to name but few.
Previously, he was the DJ for Trey Songz on his Chapter V Tour featuring Miguel and Elle Varner. Yamez has also toured with the X-Ecutioners during the DUB Magazine Tour, has toured with Donnis, Stalley, & Ninjasonik, and has toured with World of Drum & Bass and Summer Jam, has DJ’d for Moto X, Maloof Money Cup, Manny Mania Pro Skate Contest, and has opened for DJ Craze, French Montana, Asap Rocky, Scarface,Yo Gotti, Baauer, Bobby Shmurda, Afropunk and Craig David, Usher, Fabolous, Mobb Deep, Wu-Tang Clan, Danny Brown, Chief Keef, Maroon 5, Flosstradamus, and rocked Radio City Hall on NYE 2012 with Nas.
He has had sponsorships with ALIFE, Lafayette, El Señor, HUF, Ray Ban. He currently has radio shows on Newtown Radio and Waxx FM.
