Lupercalia is an ancient days-long event that led to purifications of Ancient Rome. The purifications would lead the city to believe in good health and fertility in the year to come. It’s provocative, seductive beginnings would come to influence Valentine’s Day. This event uses imagery and elements of this ancient pagan holiday to bring forth purification in the way of sound and drag performance.
