About Tall Tees
Tall Tees is a dance party dedicated to 2000s Hip Hop and R&B. Every month, Make Sure You Have Fun™ brings you a night full of nostalgia and your favorite forgotten and unforgettable hits from the early 2000s. Come prepared to hear music from Ciara, Missy Elliot, Ludacris, The Clipse, Beyonce, Tweet, Mystikal, 50 Cent, Monica, The Ying Yang Twins, Wiz Khalifa, Gucci Mane, Ashanti, Ja Rule, and more. Think you know your stuff about the 2000s? You might even get a chance to win special prizes and tickets to future shows by participating in our Tall Tees Trivia Game during the party. Throw on your Y2K best (or don’t, but why not?!), bring your whole crew, and don’t forget to clean your Forces every 2nd Saturday at Spirit Lodge in Pittsburgh for Tall Tees!

History of Tall Tees
Tall Tees was founded in 2016 by Pete Butta and Make Sure You Have Fun™ Founder Ryan “RB” Brown as a night dedicated to 2000s Hip Hop and R&B. From 2016 to early 2018, Spirit Lodge in Pittsburgh hosted one of the city's first and most popular monthly dance parties dedicated to the era, held on Thursday nights. After hosting over 18 shows with guest DJs such as GETLIVE!, DJ FEMI, DJ Red, DJ NY Giant, DJ SOLO DOLO, DJ Yamez, DJ Motormane, and DJ Bamboo, the party concluded when Pete Butta moved to New York City to continue his creative and musical career.
Fast forward to 2021, after the COVID-19 lockdown and receiving feedback from our audience, Make Sure You Have Fun™ revived the concept at their annual Black Wednesday 2021 to a widely positive reception. Starting in January 2022, Make Sure You Have Fun™ has hosted the party as part of their 5+ year residency at Spirit on the 2nd Saturday of each month. From launching Tall Tees Radio on MSYH.FM and opening up the stage for local and regional DJs such as DJ Breis Gordan, DJ COLEBLOODED, DJ Inception, Doctor Dap, Arie Cole, Lariches, THEO, Slim Tha DJ, tj groover, DJ QRX, DPHR and Icy Pisces, in addition to our inaugural New Haven, CT party, Tall Tees is back and here to stay.

Slim Tha DJ
Slim Tha DJ is a multifaceted DJ and producer, specializing in Hip-Hop, R&B, and AfroBeats based in Pittsburgh, PA. With over 15 years of experience, he’s had the privilege of working with a wide range of artists, businesses, and brands—currently serving as tour DJ for Spillage Village artist, Benji.
Slim has grown a loyal following by showcasing local, national, and international artists in his mixes and sets. With his unrivaled musical skill and library, Slim Tha DJ is guaranteed to pack any dance floor and keep the good time going.
Slim Tha DJ is a homegrown talent with international appeal. He has held residencies at some of the most popular bars, restaurants, and night clubs in the region. As a touring DJ, he has brought his talents to venues and stages all over North America, opening for artists such as Earthgang, Curren$y, and Gary Clark Jr.

Doctor Dap
Doctor Dap is a Pittsburgh-based open format DJ and turntablist. Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Doctor Dap has provided music for clubs, bars, weddings, and events all across the East Coast.
He has also competed in and placed in several local and international DJ battles, recently these include Battlegories 2021 in Pittsburgh, Wildcuts Scratch Freestyle 2019, and the 2020 IDA (International DJ Association) USA Scratch Battle, where he made it to the elite 8. Doctor Dap's talents have been recognized by major DJ brands, with notable social media features on BPM Supreme, DJ City, Serato, and PhaseDJ. He continues to regularly rock events across Pittsburgh. Richard Pallay, known as 1PrettyRicky, was born & raised in Los Angeles and is based out of Fargo, North Dakota. With a BS in Business Management and expertise as a DJ since 2013, he owns WEAREONE, a DJ collective and social agency. WEAREONE has collaborated with over 60 partners nationally and specializes in corporate events, conference entertainment, clubs, and festivals. As a DJ, Richard seamlessly blends a vast array of music genres, specializing in House, Hip-Hop, and R&B music. As an MC, he elegantly engages crowds to create transformative experiences. 1PrettyRicky is the future of soul!
