Nerd Nite is a monthly lecture event that strives for an inebriated, salacious, yet deeply academic vibe. It's often about science or technology, but by no means is it limited to such topics. And it's definitely entertaining. The co-bosses in Pittsburgh have been to Nerd Nites in other cities and are getting them started here! If you like alcohol, learning about random and interesting things, and meeting other nerds this is for you! To facilitate mingling, setup is with mostly long communal tables and we will be experimenting with some games where you can make new friends and win free drinks! Doors open at 7, show starts at 7:30. Speakers for this are:

Jeff Mikula - CEO & Lead Contrarian, New Dimensions in Learning: “Full Frontal Nerdity - Exploring the nerd brain and separating fact vs crap in personality assessments.”

Meghan Bucher - Pitt Neuroscience PhD Candidate: “When good dopamine goes bad: dopamine as an endogenous neurotoxin”

Jane Huang - Pitt Neuroscience PhD Candidate: "The essentials of essential oils"
